Dar Jezzine

In the Heart of Jezzine

A House, A Family, A Return

For over two decades, Rana Esseily and Chucri Serhal lived in France. And yet, something unspoken always tethered them to Lebanon — to Jezzine, their land of origin and memory. Though Rana wasn’t born there, she immediately felt a powerful emotional bond, the kind that makes a place feel like home from the very first visit.

In 2024, in the midst of conflict and uncertainty, they made a bold decision: to buy and restore a traditional Lebanese house in Jezzine. For them, it was more than an act of renovation — it was a gesture of hope, faith, and reconstruction. A message to their children, and to others, that beauty and resilience still live in Lebanon.

Stone, Story, and Soul

What Rana and Chucri created is not a hotel. Dar Jezzine is a family home, where guests of all ages — especially families and children — are welcomed with warmth and simplicity. A place where laughter fills the garden, where children run barefoot, and where the clinking of plates and cups signals joy shared among generations.

Restored with deep respect for Lebanese heritage — from arches and stone walls to wooden doors — the house now combines authentic charm with modern comfort. It is at once intimate, rooted, and real.

The Rooster: A Symbol That Bridges Two Lives

At the entrance of Dar Jezzine, a small but proud rooster welcomes you. This emblem — a symbol of France and a beloved figure in Jezzine — embodies the couple’s dual heritage. It stands for presence, vigilance, and joy. It’s a wink to the Serhals’ French story and a nod to their roots in Jezzine’s spirit. It is the guardian of the house, and a symbol of cultural dialogue.

At the Heart of It All

What truly sets Dar Jezzine apart is its exceptional location. It’s not on the outskirts, not hidden away — it sits in the very center of Jezzine, in the middle of the old souk, steps away from the cliff, the cafés, the artisans. You can explore everything on foot or by bike. And yes — there is private parking, making your stay stress-free from the moment you arrive.
